As for discussing the antidotes: due to committing killing, one attains a short life; now cultivating non-killing one departs from the turbidity of lifespan. Due to disrespect, delusion, stinginess, and indolence, the turbidity of sentient beings arises; if one cultivates respect and departs from delusion, stinginess, and so forth, one departs from the turbidity of sentient beings. If one attains the noble path, one departs from the turbidity of affliction and the turbidity of views. As for the turbidity of the kalpa: if in the present lifetime one upholds the precept of non-killing for one day and one night, one will never be born into that kalpa of weapons; if one offers a single meal to the field of merit of the saṃgha, one will never be born into that kalpa of famine; if one offers a single harītakī fruit to a sick person, one will never be born into that kalpa of pestilence.
