一月不食是外道計，投巖赴火是尼犍子計，婆羅門吠地迦呪者，此云明呪也，究竟淨謂為無漏出世淨也。
'Not eating for a month' is a non-Buddhist view. 'Throwing oneself from cliffs and leaping into fire' is a Nirgrantha view. 'Brahmin vaidikamantra' means vidyā-mantra (clear incantation) here. 'Ultimate purity' refers to taintless, supramundane purity.
