第十三解所修正願,初問,後答。論願體性諸師不同,有古師依成實以忍為體。備師云:以智為性。故此論云:智於後後希求故。三藏云:思欲信上假立願也。景師云:用勝解欲思信為體。
The thirteenth section explains the cultivated correct aspirations. First comes the question, and then the answer. Regarding the intrinsic nature of aspiration in the treatise, the various masters differ. There are ancient masters who, relying on the *Tattvasiddhi*, take patience (kṣānti) as its nature. Master Bei says: it takes knowledge (jñāna) as its nature; thus this treatise states: 'Because knowledge desires higher and higher [stages].' The Tripiṭaka Master [Xuanzang] says: it is nominally established on volition (cetanā), desire (chanda), and faith (śraddhā). Master Jing says: it takes resolute belief (adhimokṣa), desire, volition, and faith as its nature.
