若準施品，戒是攝品四攝攝度，布施唯攝布施，餘四度純是同事攝。若除布施餘三攝事皆智慧度攝，今云愛語是尸羅者，此是正依戒而行。

If judged according to the Chapter on Giving, morality belongs to the Chapter on Assimilation, where the four means of assimilation subsume the perfections: giving subsumes only giving, while the remaining four perfections are purely subsumed by common undertaking. If giving is excluded, the remaining three means of assimilation are all subsumed by the perfection of wisdom; here, stating that affectionate speech is śīla means that this is practiced in direct reliance upon discipline.
