11.36

如是菩薩於三寶所下，第二明興供養時發起六種增上意樂。鄔曇妙華者，此間無名可飜。西方大有，此樹無華，但在葉間有子而出，輪王出時方生華也，如青蓮華有華無子，與鄔曇鉢樹有子無華正相違也。

From 'A bodhisattva who, toward the Three Jewels...' down, the second [part] explains arousing the six superior resolutions when making offerings. As for the 'exquisite udumbara flower,' there is no name here by which to translate it. They are abundant in the Western regions; this tree has no flowers, but fruits emerge from among the leaves, and flowers bloom only when a wheel-turning king appears. Just as the blue lotus has flowers but no fruit, it is exactly the opposite of the udumbara tree, which has fruit but no flowers.
