故維摩經說：云何觀眾生？答：如燋穀芽，如須陀洹身見，如阿那含人胎，如阿羅漢三毒，如得忍菩薩貪恚毀禁。
Therefore, the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa-sūtra says: 'How should one view sentient beings? Answer: Like scorched grain sprouts; like a srotaāpanna's view of self; like an anāgāmin entering a womb; like an arhat's three poisons; like a bodhisattva who has attained forbearance having greed, ill-will, and breaking precepts.'
