自下總明，文分有五；初明修證分齊；二、明斷障分位；三、明清淨漸次；四、明攝前功德品中八法在此十三住中；五、明以大類少次第相當。

From here below is the general clarification, where the text is divided into five parts: (1) clarifying the extent of cultivation and realization; (2) clarifying the stages of severing obstacles; (3) clarifying the gradual sequence of purification; (4) clarifying how the eight dharmas from the preceding Chapter on Virtues are subsumed within these thirteen dwellings; and (5) clarifying the corresponding sequence of categorizing the fewer by the greater.
