12.21

次有一句明住地心，謂從觀諸有情乃至皆聞正法以為緣起。於中，初觀有情脫苦方便唯是其佛無障礙智；次推佛智由彼學起無分別智；次推此智由依定起，謂即三地所修定等；又推此定知因教起聽聞為先。

Next, there is one clause that clarifies the mind abiding in the stage, which extends from 'contemplating sentient beings... up to having hearing the true Dharma as the causal condition.' Therein, it first contemplates that the expedient means for sentient beings to escape suffering is solely the unobstructed wisdom of the Buddha; next, it infers that the Buddha's wisdom arises through the cultivation of non-conceptual wisdom; next, it infers that this wisdom arises based on concentration, namely the concentrations cultivated in the third stage; furthermore, it infers that this concentration arises from instruction, with hearing as the prerequisite.
