唯有命緣暫時得住者，釋第二義，下引經證可知。基云：又此約迴心向大乘語，謂以願通力令住千劫，此住命即由願通力生，如變化亦以通化力生故也，若佛即不如是。下牒結可知。上來決擇心意識義中初問次答竟。

'It remains only temporarily through the condition of life' explains the second meaning; what follows cites scripture for proof, as is easily understood. Ji says: 'Furthermore, this is spoken with reference to those who resolve toward the Mahāyāna: by the power of vows and supernormal faculties, they cause it to remain for a thousand kalpas; this preservation of life is generated by the power of vows and supernormal faculties, just as a magical creation is generated by the power of supernormal transformation. In the case of a Buddha, it is not like this.' The recapitulation and conclusion below are easily understood. The initial question and subsequent answer in the above resolution of the meaning of citta, manas, and vijñāna are concluded.
