由此斷故乃至以究竟離故者，明由識住因緣斷故從因所生四識住體亦不相續，故名識住寂止。

Regarding "because of this severing... up to... because of ultimate detachment": this explains that because the causes and conditions of the stations of consciousness are severed, the essence of the four stations of consciousness arisen from those causes also ceases to continue; hence it is called the cessation of the stations of consciousness.
