14.3

於十門中，第七解業義，即是決擇眼識所緣中表色耳識所緣聲意識助伴中思，亦可通決擇彼六識助伴相應思數以皆彼業性故。中有二：初明三性三業；後明不律儀等三業。前中，初辨業相，後明假實。

Among the ten sections, the seventh explains the meaning of karma, which resolves the visible forms that manifest within the objective domain of the eye consciousness, the sounds within the objective domain of the ear consciousness, and intention (cetanā) among the associates of the mental consciousness; it may also be understood as resolving the mental factor of intention associated as a companion to all six consciousnesses, because intention is the nature of karma in all cases. In this there are two parts: first, clarifying the three natures and the three karmas; second, clarifying the three karmas of non-restraint and so forth. In the former, it first distinguishes the characteristics of karma, and then clarifies whether they are nominal or real.
