14.325

基云：大乘響如影，耳聞時唯聞本聲，但意惑亂故謂言谷中有響，如鏡中像相似，今就彼宗，故言不滅。

Ji says: In the Mahāyāna, an echo is like an image; when the ear hears, it only hears the original sound, but because the intellect is confused, it says an echo exists in the valley, resembling an image in a mirror. Now conforming to that school, it therefore says 'does not perish'.
