Regarding conjunction, Jing says: 'Here it is said that shamelessness and unconscionableness are conjoined with all unwholesome states; yet fascicle fifty-three, in explaining the entity of non-restraint, only says that unwholesome volition, aspiration, non-faith, sloth, forgetfulness, distraction, and faulty wisdom are unwholesome roots, without mentioning shamelessness and unconscionableness. Thus shamelessness and unconscionableness are not necessarily conjoined with all unwholesome states; or perhaps in that passage, because shamelessness and unconscionableness are definitely present in unwholesome dharmas and easily understood, they are not mentioned. Furthermore, here the conjunction of investigation and reflection with the three natures is briefly omitted from discussion.'
