景云：此中邊現觀與見道邊，修世俗智體則不得，相即以見道修智體是有漏，修位方起。如十六卷云：方便地中，聞思修等所有種子。今在見道修令清淨名得此智而不現前，以見道十六心剎那無容得起世間心故。修後位中，方起在前。若邊現觀體是無漏後得智攝位在見道，即是彼說見道十六剎那等。

Jing says: Here, the marginal clear realization and the worldly knowledge cultivated at the margin of the path of seeing cannot have the same essence. This is because the essence of the cultivated knowledge on the path of seeing is tainted and only arises in the stage of cultivation. As the sixteenth fascicle says: All seeds of hearing, reflection, cultivation, and so on in the stage of preparation are now purified through cultivation in the path of seeing; this is called attaining this knowledge, yet it does not become manifest, because during the sixteen mental moments of the path of seeing there is no possibility of a worldly mind arising. It is only in the stage after cultivation that it arises as manifest. If the essence of marginal clear realization is subsumed under taintless subsequently attained knowledge and its stage is situated in the path of seeing, it corresponds to what they explain as the sixteen moments of the path of seeing and so forth.
