於中，初辨語過。謂為養命故，發諂佞言呪願讚美及以序述，并盡妄語綺語，為修福中說廣殺害興祠祀福田，殺祠祀得常處果等，亦是綺語，故是語過。

In this, it first discerns the fault of speech. That is to say, for the sake of maintaining livelihood, uttering flattering words of mantras, prayers, praises, and lineage narrations, all of which constitute false and frivolous speech; and, in cultivating merit, preaching the extensive slaughter [of beings] to raise sacrificial fields of merit, attaining the fruit of eternal abode through sacrificial slaughter, etc., which are also frivolous speech; therefore, they are faults of speech.
