The Tripiṭaka Master also says: Regarding "after conception arises later, one passes away from there": just as "having come previously" is called "coming now," and "coming now" is also called "having already come," here too it is like this. One should say that when consciousness and conception are just arising at the time of taking rebirth after passing away from there, that arising is described as "having already arisen." Because the word order of the Western countries is inverted, it first leads with "conception having arisen at the time of taking rebirth later," and only then leads into "the non-conceptual being then passing away from there." However, this is not as good as the former explanation, since both the Yogācārabhūmi and the Abhidharmasamuccaya state that there are nine kinds of dying minds that give rise to self-attachment, continuing into the present birth.
