Regarding conjunction: Jing says: Good extinguishing pleasure and evil bringing about suffering, when cause and condition are complete, is called conjunction through harmony. For example, when one has attained meditative abiding, and later, having neglected it through forgetfulness, returns to relying on the former skillful means of reciting sūtras and must subsequently re-attain it, this is called conjunction through skillful means. Acting in accordance with good or evil, matching former standards so that what was to be done is accomplished, is called conjunction through action.
