前中云：謂如經言乃至前已說故者，此違初經。景云：文意，會若非實。云何能得染惱心令不解脫，重問何所為。答意，若立唯心不得並，是則心起離貪，貪等起時不應依識。

In the first part, stating: “That is, as the sūtra says…” up to “…because it has already been explained before,” contradicts the first sūtra. Jing said: The meaning of the text is to reconcile [the question]: if [mental factors] are not real, how could they afflict the mind and make it not liberated? It inquires again: what is the reason for this? The sense of the answer is that if one posits mind-only, they cannot exist concurrently; thus, when mind arises, it is free from greed, and when greed and the like arise, they should not depend on consciousness.
