前中，問二：一、問處義；二、問立處。答即有二：一、答前問，六義名為處，略為三例，同時處義即居住處；二者、前時，即生長門方便處；三、通二時，即和合性所依止。

In the former part, there are two questions: first, asking the meaning of āyatana; second, asking why the āyatanas are established. The reply has two parts: first, replying to the former question, six meanings are called āyatana, summarized into three types: the simultaneous meaning of āyatana is a dwelling place; second, preceding in time, it is the gateway of growth and production as an expedient place; third, pervasive of both times, it is the basis of harmonious conjunction.
