三、辨假實。景云：有、生、死，是假者，以無生法，即前行支，由愛取潤建立名有；生、老死但於來報分位，法上假立生死，故立是假。

Third, distinguishing nominal and real. Jing says: existence, birth, and death are nominal, because the unarisen dharmas—namely the previous branch of volitional formation—are established as 'existence' when moisturised by craving and grasping; birth, old age, and death are merely nominally established as birth-and-death upon the state of future retribution; hence they are established as nominal.
