前中，非謂明無，亦非邪智者，有說明無即是無明，便更別有無明之體，後說云邪智乖正即是無明，何處別有無明之體，故云也。

Within the former, 'it is neither the absence of brightness nor wrong knowledge' addresses the view which says that the absence of brightness is itself ignorance, so how could there be a separate entity of ignorance; and the subsequent view which says that wrong knowledge going against the correct is itself ignorance, so where could there be a separate entity of ignorance; hence it is stated thus.
