15.523

一者、自疑不決從他邪教投巖赴火現受多惱。中三文顯。第五、由於自餓等非方便中起正方便增上慢故不得生天，乃至墮惡趣名為異果。由實無有通達，六處之智未得謂得生增上慢，故無無漏沙門之果也。

The first is that, through one's own unresolved doubt, one follows foreign false teachings, throwing oneself from cliffs and rushing into fire, experiencing much distress in the present. The middle three passages are evident. As for the fifth: because of giving rise to the excessive pride of [taking] improper means such as self-starvation to be correct means, one fails to be born in heaven and even falls into the bad destinies, which is termed a differing fruition. Because there is truly no wisdom that comprehends the six bases, yet one claims to have attained what one has not attained and gives rise to excessive pride, there is no taintless fruition of a śramaṇa.
