景述三藏言：此文總約初僧祇位未知根，是故但言勝解行地建立初根，據理合入初地及地前總立初根。

Jing relates the Tripiṭaka Master's words: 'This text generally refers to the faculty of one who does not yet know in the state of the first asaṃkhyeya [kalpa]; therefore, it only speaks of establishing the initial faculty in the stage of practice with resolute conviction. According to principle, it should properly be established across both entry into the first stage and before the stages collectively.'
