The explanation says: Parents have two senses: first, having the function of sustaining and nurturing; second, having the sense of being worthy of veneration and respect, which is a real entity. Good and evil actions have two senses: first, the essence of the cause; second, the function of the cause. Apparitionally born sentient beings also have two senses: first, having the function of binding consciousness; second, being real entities of cause and effect. Each relies on one sense, which is why they differ. The sixty-two views are subsumed under three views. In this passage, it refers to thirty eternalist views, seven annihilationist views, and fifteen wrong views. The extensive explanation of the various views is as in the Record on the Maulī Bhūmiḥ.
