初中，云：一、了知煩惱自性過患者發苦招生，別生現後二世苦惱。二、思惟彼對治所緣境相者，學觀二空所顯真如名思境相。三、以勝善品資心相續者，修施戒忍等勝善資心。此是永斷正見前行之道者，前二在資糧位，後一在加行，此皆是無漏斷道行遠近方便也。二解三種對治并通資糧加行位。

Within the first, it says: 'First, knowing the faults of the intrinsic nature of defilements: they bring forth suffering and invite rebirth, separately generating the suffering and afflictions of the present and subsequent lifetimes. Second, contemplating the characteristics of the referent object that is their antidote: training in the contemplation of the tathatā revealed by the two emptinesses is called contemplating the characteristics of the object. Third, sustaining the mental continuum with superior wholesome dharmas: cultivating superior wholesome dharmas such as giving, morality, and patience to sustain the mind. This is the path that precedes the right view of permanent abandonment: the first two are in the stage of provisions, and the last one is in the stage of preparation; these are all the distant and proximate expedients for the path of abandonment without taints.' A second explanation holds that all three antidotes pertain to both the stage of provisions and the stage of preparation.
