何以言見斷等者,此簡修道貪,若但言貪等,恐濫修貪等,前苦集即於所緣諦名,此滅道有漏惑,但言見斷即知簡修,而是滅道下貪等。
Why does it say 'abandoned through seeing' and so forth? This is to exclude the attachment of the path of cultivation. If it only said 'attachment and so forth,' it is feared that it would be conflated with the attachment of cultivation and so forth. Previously, suffering and origin [were differentiated] with respect to the names of the truths taken as objects; for these tainted delusions of cessation and the path, merely saying 'abandoned through seeing' makes it known that cultivation is excluded, and that they are the attachment and so forth under cessation and the path.
