17.224

差別有九。一、種子；二、現行；三、相應；四、不共；五、蔽伏心性，即前相應不共等四障蔽善心；六、發業則不共無明；七、不染則是法執無明；八、離恥羞即前種子等離羞恥發起惡行；九、堅固謂無性有情。

There are nine distinctions: 1. Seed; 2. Active manifestation; 3. Associated; 4. Unshared; 5. Obscuring the nature of the mind—that is, the four preceding, such as associated and unshared, obscure the wholesome mind; 6. Initiating karma, which is unshared ignorance; 7. Non-defiled, which is the ignorance of grasping at dharmas; 8. Devoid of shame and remorse, that is, the preceding seeds, etc., lacking shame and remorse, give rise to bad conduct; 9. Rigid, referring to sentient beings lacking gotra.
