下辨無明於五處障礙以為其業，五處雖別略判為二，前三障聖後二障凡。一、能障礙真實智喜者，障初見道，以二乘之人初證聖時雖有勝劣，同生歡喜故。二、能障礙煩惱滅得者，此障斷德。三、障聖道成滿者，謂障修道無學道二障於世間勝利。

Below, distinguishing the obstruction of ignorance in five situations as its karma: although the five situations are distinct, they are briefly classified into two: the first three obstruct noble ones, and the latter two obstruct ordinary worldlings. 1. 'Able to obstruct the joy of true wisdom' obstructs the initial path of seeing, because when persons of the two vehicles first realize nobility, although they have superior and inferior [faculties], they equally give rise to joy. 2. 'Able to obstruct the attainment of cessation of afflictions': this obstructs the virtue of abandonment. 3. 'Obstructing the fulfillment of the noble path': meaning it obstructs the path of cultivation and the path of non-learning. The [other] two obstruct mundane superior benefits.
