17.268

基云：此中名隨煩惱者，隨惱於心名隨煩惱，亦隨煩惱而生名隨煩惱。此中兩釋，若染污心所隨他煩惱而生，如俱舍隨眠品說：行蘊心所並此，是中准前，如離事中一切皆是。然據勝者，此論唯言二十二等，此中二十二外所有，不出二十二體，以相收攝，尋之可知。

Ji states: 'Here they are called secondary afflictions (upakleśa) because: following upon and afflicting the mind, they are called secondary afflictions; also, arising subsequent to afflictions, they are called secondary afflictions. There are two explanations here: if defiled mental factors arise following other afflictions, as stated in the Chapter on Latent Defilements of the *Abhidharmakośa*: all mental factors in the aggregate of formations are this. In this context, following what was said before, as in the abandonment of affairs, all are so. However, based on the prominent ones, this treatise only speaks of twenty-two, etc.; whatever exists outside these twenty-two does not exceed the substance of the twenty-two, being subsumed by their characteristics, which can be understood upon examination.'
