Ji says: Another major doctrinal view states: Regarding "far-reaching ground," persons who have entered the minds of the ten understandings also attain the concentration of cessation; the concentration of cessation is a semblance of the taintless, so its essence is tainted. When it says now "not ordinary beings and tainted," it means not all ordinary beings and merely ordinary taints. Or it is because only when an ordinary being who has entered the stages generates a thought with the mark of nirvāṇa can they attain it. If a bodhisattva attains it, they suppress the obstacles to concentration and also attain afflictions; it is tainted or it is taintless. For the two vehicles, it is strictly taintless, because they cannot suppress the obstacles to concentration.
