問：意識相續雖聞聲而不出定，儻其外聲相續而至，在定耳識相續生耶？若相續者云何論云五識一念不相續耶？

Question: 'If the mental consciousness continues in succession and, although hearing the sound, does not emerge from meditative absorption, should the external sound arrive in succession, does the ear-consciousness in meditative absorption arise in succession? If it arises in succession, why does the treatise say that the five consciousnesses last only one moment and do not continue in succession?'
