答：名假施設，不必如義者，景云：答意，諸法立名但假施設，未必如名則有其義，由是義故出世末那雖非思量而得名意。又染末那有染思量，清淨末那有清淨思量。

Answer: "The name is a conventional designation, not necessarily matching the meaning." Jing says: The meaning of the answer is that the establishment of names for all phenomena is merely a conventional designation; there is not necessarily an actuality that matches the name. For this reason, although the supramundane manas is not cogitation, it still receives the name "manas". Furthermore, the defiled manas has defiled cogitation, and the pure manas has pure cogitation.
