次云：若諸段物至但名觸食者，景云：三識得三塵時，各彼三識為觸食體，亦可取彼三識相應數為觸食體，爾時三塵未能資養不名段食。

Next, the passage from "if material substances…" up to "is only named contact as food": Jing says: when the three consciousnesses apprehend the three sensory data, each of those three consciousnesses is the entity of contact as food; or one may also take the mental factors associated with those three consciousnesses as the entity of contact as food; at that time the three sensory data cannot yet nourish, so they are not called material food.
