Jing says: In the passage, "Furthermore, the final mind of dying in all places, and following that the initial and second continuing minds, etc.," the state of death is called the final mind of dying. When the state of death has ceased, the initial arising of the intermediate existence continues that state of death and is called the initial continuing mind; the state of rebirth arising to continue that intermediate existence is called the second continuing mind; both are solely equanimous feeling (upekṣā-vedanā).
