18.394

若無有涅槃性者，解脫分菩提有涅槃後。若作無涅槃法者，解脫分善即空無果不得涅槃也。

If one did not have the nirvāṇa-nature, then after the aids to liberation and bodhi, there would still be nirvāṇa; but if one were later to become a dharma without nirvāṇa, the wholesome [roots of the] aids to liberation would be empty and without fruit, and one would not attain nirvāṇa.
