僧玄師云：三藏不許前義決，更作釋言。解脫釋各有二種。一者、無始本有漏種子，在二言相位故，假名為二善相根；二者、加行智行智所攝有漏二種善根。今云集諦，據有漏說，餘處云道諦，約無漏說，故不相違。

Master Sengxuan says: The Tripiṭaka Master did not accept the former explanation as definitive, and made a further explanation, saying: liberation and penetration each have two kinds. First, the beginningless, inherently existent tainted seeds, which, because they are in the position of nominal marks, are metaphorically designated as the roots of wholesome marks; second, the two kinds of tainted wholesome roots subsumed under the wisdom of preparatory application. Now, calling them the truth of origination is stated based on the tainted; other places calling them the truth of the path is stated with reference to the untainted; hence, they do not contradict each other.
