18.50

次明造作等十三法有其十段，十二種造作中，前四可解。彼勝流造作者，謂彼出家者修勝進行，入聖道作防護是。或生者，求勝生故造作，聖人離欲造作，修八解脫造作，練根造作，凡聖引發神通造作，發起無量他利造作。

Next, clarifying the thirteen phenomena such as activity, there are ten sections. Among the twelve kinds of activity, the first four can be understood. 'The activity of the superior stream' refers to one who has gone forth cultivating superior progressive practice, entering the noble path and providing protection. 'Or arising' refers to engaging in activity for the sake of seeking superior rebirth; the activity of noble ones departing from desire; the activity of cultivating the eight liberations; the activity of training the faculties; the activity of ordinary beings and noble ones eliciting supernormal knowledges; and the activity of initiating immeasurable benefit for others.
