然尋上下文勢有三種頌：一、是總頌，總別大章故；二、是中頌，牒前章門後細標列故，又說標列釋已，即以一頌重收前義，亦名中頌；三、是後頌，釋諸門義，總以一頌重收結故。

Examining the context above and below, there are three kinds of verses: first, the summary verse, which generally summarizes the major sections; second, the intermediate verses, which cite the preceding section headings and then list them in detail, or again, after the listing is explained, re-gather the previous meaning with a verse, which is also called an intermediate verse; third, the concluding verses, which, after the meanings of the various sections are explained, gather and conclude them overall with a verse.
