2.41

色天身量，同難心。大梵身量，不倍前益者，以尋有無際業果，難勝故。無雲減三者，以離變異受定難修故，三惡趣身大小不定，隨業增微身大小，則知無間身量未必八萬。然有經論說，遍獄量，據最大說。

The physical measurements of the form heavens share the difficult mind. That the physical measurement of Mahābrahmā does not double that of the previous is because, having or lacking limitless karmic fruit through investigation, it is difficult to surpass. That the Cloudless [Heaven] decreases by three is because the meditative absorption experiencing freedom from change is difficult to cultivate. The physical sizes of the three miserable destinies are unfixed, increasing or diminishing with karma; thus one knows that the physical measurement in the Unremitting [Hell] is not necessarily eighty thousand. However, where sūtras and śāstras state that they pervade the dimensions of the hell, they speak based on the maximum.
