Jing says: 'As for: in the nirvāṇa realm with remainder, feelings whose fruits are not yet perfected are all completely extinguished: the essence of karma and afflictions was already severed and eliminated at the time of the diamond-like mind; only then does one attain [nirvāṇa] with remainder. "Experiencing feelings born of luminous contact that counteracts them": experiencing feelings concomitant with the wisdom of exhaustion and non-arising is feeling born of luminous contact. "Experiencing common feelings": experiencing the feeling of the shared receptacle world, which is the feeling of support; it omits mentioning the feelings of requisites and consumption; it only excludes clinging attachment, because that is concomitant with greed. "Or again, feelings whose fruits are already perfected": because within feelings whose fruits are already perfected, there are both those with coarse heaviness and those without coarse heaviness. Now, in the body of an aśaikṣa there are only feelings without coarse heaviness; hence it says "or". It omits mentioning experiencing feelings with material basis and feelings with immaterial basis, because the aśaikṣa still gives rise to them.' In the second explanation of the text: 'Also, two kinds of feeling are all completely extinguished, namely, the retribution of the feeling of the basis's coarse heaviness and the feelings of the realms that are its fruits are all severed and eliminated; only presently experiencing feeling born of luminous contact': this refers to all feelings at the exhaustion of taints being named feelings born of luminous contact. 'When entering parinirvāṇa in the nirvāṇa realm without remainder, this too is not yet extinguished': following the previous two explanations, all feelings in [nirvāṇa] with remainder are now, upon entering [nirvāṇa] without remainder, extinguished in greater or lesser degree, as should be understood as before.
