Explaining the 'friend who drinks urine', Jing and Bei both say: A man was beaten and lay unconscious on the ground; someone with malicious intent urinated into his mouth, and the man then revived. Having revived, he told him, 'You drank my urine, and therefore were revived.' When the man heard this, he entered the Ganges River and soaked for six months before he could enter the village. Because the people of the Western Country taboos touching feces and urine, how much less would they be willing to ingest it. What has traditionally been passed down as 'discarded old medicine' was said to be feces, so they took toilet runoff and ingested it, which is utterly absurd. What is called 'discarded old medicine' refers to taking the medicine dregs discarded by others, decocting them, and ingesting them; this is called discarded old medicine.
