21.348

前有一頌略列七門，隨別解釋。就此頌中義有三勢，若隨義列數則有十四，若義類相從則但有七，若據具五德故方能說法令生勝利義。但有五分，文為六，以勝利為第六故也。

First, there is a verse briefly listing seven portals, followed by separate explanations. In this verse, the meaning has three applications: if listed according to meaning by number, there are fourteen; if grouped according to classes of meaning, there are only seven; if based on possessing the five virtues so that one can teach the Dharma and cause superior benefits to arise, there are only five parts, while the text has six, because superior benefit is taken as the sixth.
