22.100

言白品異門等宣說者，是善，通漏無漏總名為白；欲以諸門次第宣說，黑品異門等宣說者，不善名為黑品，示欲以異門分別解釋。下半頌解脫二品，意為開悟他令覺義故，故說略頌應知也。

The statement "Explaining the categories of the white class and so forth": 'white' refers to what is wholesome, generally designating both the tainted and the taintless as white; it is intended to explain them in sequence by means of various categories. "Explaining the categories of the black class and so forth": what is unwholesome is called the black class; it indicates the intent to distinguish and explain them by means of synonyms. The lower half of the verse explains the two classes, the intention being to enlighten others and cause them to realize the meaning; therefore, know that a summary verse is spoken.
