亦明三教門，即初第三教中三種辨蓋以明三教，初云依為證得斷離滅界，即此一切煩惱為蓋等，是初教；次說五蓋為蓋，第二言教；後說無明為蓋等，第三教。

It also explains the approach of the three teachings: namely, within the initial third teaching, it distinguishes hindrances in three ways to clarify the three teachings. First, it says: "Relying on attaining the realm of abandoning, detachment, and cessation..."—this taking all afflictions as hindrances and so forth is the first teaching; next, it speaks of the five hindrances as hindrances, which is the second verbal teaching; finally, it speaks of ignorance as a hindrance and so forth, which is the third teaching.
