23.46

言初中後善者，如前攝異門分中所明七善中初時善門也。言現在、過去二世別故，名第二差別者，現在名此世，過去名他，對前欲界此也，上界他世，故云第二差別。

Regarding 'good in the beginning, middle, and end': this is the doorway of the goodness of the initial period among the seven goodnesses explained previously in the Paryāyasaṃgrahaṇī. Regarding the statement 'because the two lifetimes, present and past, are distinct, it is called the second distinction': the present is called this world, and the past is called the other; in contrast to the previous desire realm being this [world], the higher realms are the other world, hence called the second distinction.
