上來契經有四釋中，行釋已訖。自下第二明處釋，有四卷文以廣決擇十二處，故云處釋也。

Above, among the four explanations of the sūtras, the explanation of practices has been completed. Below is the second, the explanation of the sense bases (āyatana), comprising four fascicles of text to extensively determine the twelve sense bases; hence it is called the explanation of the sense bases.
