第四解外異生品等，謂若無於佛信等五根，唯是外凡，若於菩提唯有世間信等五根，是內異生，若於菩提起無漏信，名聖品類，非彼品類。

Fourth, explaining the category of external ordinary beings, etc.: if one lacks the five faculties of faith and so forth regarding the Buddha, one is merely an external ordinary person; if toward bodhi one has only worldly faculties of faith and so forth, one is an internal ordinary person; if toward bodhi one gives rise to taintless faith, one is called a category of noble beings, not of that [ordinary] category.
