初解內外力，修八聖道由內外力，外力眾多。然善知識力，最為殊勝，由此故名從他聞音。內力眾多，正思惟力最為殊勝。由此故名內正思惟，由此二因，正見得聖。

First is to explain internal and external powers. Cultivating the eightfold noble path is due to internal and external powers. The external powers are numerous, yet the power of a spiritual friend is the most supreme; on account of this, it is called 'hearing the voice from another'. The internal powers are numerous, yet the power of proper reflection is the most supreme; on account of this, it is called 'internal proper reflection'. Due to these two causes, right view attains noble status.
