Within the former, the things belonging to the defiled class of saṃsāra under ignorance briefly present twenty-two kinds. Regarding the statement, 'Due to distinctions in detachment from desire, good destinies, bad destinies, inducement, and orientation': this is explained as ten kinds. One interpretation says: detachment from the desire realm has good destinies, which are two, and bad destinies, which are two, making four; with the realm itself, making five. Actions that have inducement are common to the three [realms], making one more. In the realms, having orientation is common to the lower two, and the two realms, making one at the end; added to the preceding, they make seven; and common to the preceding three realms, they make ten. As for the four things concerning obtaining an individual existence: there is obtaining an individual existence where self-harm is operative while harming others is not operative, or where harming others is operative while self-harm is not operative, where both are operative, and where neither is operative. As for the four things concerning the experience of dharmas: (1) there is an experience of dharmas where one experiences pleasure in the present and experiences painful maturation in a future life; (2) there is an experience of dharmas where one experiences pain in the present and experiences pleasurable maturation in a future life; (3) there is an experience of dharmas where one experiences pleasure in the present and experiences pleasurable maturation in a future life; (4) there is an experience of dharmas where one experiences pain in the present and experiences painful maturation in a future life. The things belonging to the pure class of cessation list nineteen kinds of things. As for the seven things of the true Dharma, Master Jing says: namely, knowing the Dharma, knowing the meaning, knowing the time, knowing moderation, knowing the assembly, knowing oneself, and knowing high and low. Master Tai says: the seven things of proper mental application; this must be checked against the Commentary. Regarding 'The detailed analysis of such things is as explained previously in those respective stages': this was explained in the Maulī Bhūmiḥ. Regarding 'And in the various Saṃgrahaṇīs, their profound marks should be known': their marks should be known in the Vyākhyānasaṃgrahaṇī, Paryāyasaṃgrahaṇī, and Vastusaṃgrahaṇī.
