3.119

依聞思修所治差別說前三者，由聞故知法其所治名無知，由思故推稱其所治名無見，依修故明證其所治名無現觀，故云所治差別故，說此三種，耎中上三自性差別故，說黑闇愚癡無明闇，此中通說一切無知。

The first three are spoken of based on the distinctions in what is remedied by hearing, reflection, and cultivation: through hearing, one knows phenomena, and what it remedies is called non-knowing; through reflection, one deliberates and weighs, and what it remedies is called non-seeing; based on cultivation, one brightly realizes, and what it remedies is called non-realization; therefore it says that based on the distinctions in what is remedied, these three kinds are spoken of. Based on the distinctions in the intrinsic nature of the soft, middling, and superior, darkness, stupidity, and the darkness of ignorance are spoken of; here all ignorances are generally spoken of.
